  6. MenuBar requires RISC OS 3.1 or above.  It is StrongARM compatible.

  9.  Getting started
  10.  ---------------

  12. Copy the !MenuBar application from the supplied floppy disc to any
  13. directory on your hard disc, and run the program by double-clicking
  14. on the !MenuBar icon.  When you run MenuBar the initial Bar appears
  15. at the top of the screen with a button on the left and five (empty)
  16. Menus.  The button in effect replaces the usual icon bar icon.

  19.  Upgrading from MenuBar 1

  22. Users of MenuBar 1 can transfer their existing data to MenuBar 2 by
  23. simply dropping their existing application '!MenuBar' onto the
  24. button at the left of the bar.

  27.  Upgrading from an earlier version of MenuBar 2
  28.  ----------------------------------------------

  30. To transfer your existing data, registration details and choices
  31. simply replace the Library and User directories in the new version
  32. with those in the older version.

  38. Full information is given in the Help file, a copy of which is in
  39. the directory 'Manual'.  This file is constructed to be easily
  40. printed, if required.  A reminder of keyboard and mouse shortcuts is
  41. accessible from the button menu.

  44.  The 'Register' file
  45.  -------------------
  46.  
  47. The 'Library' directory contains a special 'Register' file,
  48. encrypted with your name.  The Library directory is your personal
  49. property, and when in future you obtain upgrades from the PD
  50. Library, you simply copy your Library directory to the new version
  51. to retain both your registration and your data.

  53. You are encouraged to pass on unregistered copies of the program,
  54. and to do this you simply copy the MenuBar to a floppy disc and then
  55. delete the entire Library directory.  This ensures that your
  56. personal property is safeguarded, and that the version you pass on
  57. behaves as an unregistered demo version.

  60.  Demo version data
  61.  -----------------

  63. If you experimented by creating data with the demo version, and if
  64. you wish to retain this data, you will need to run the Text file for
  65. each Bar through !Convert first to create new Data files - see
  66. Section 13 in the Help file.  (This is because the demo data files
  67. contain a lower value for the maximum number of Menus.)

  70.  MenuBar 2 Site Licences
  71.  -----------------------

  73. The standard price of 15 UK pounds licenses you to use MenuBar 2 on
  74. a single machine.
