- MenuBar 2.12 (18 Oct 1997) Release Note
- ========================== ============
-
- MenuBar requires RISC OS 3.1 or above. It is StrongARM compatible.
-
-
- Getting started
- ---------------
-
- Copy the !MenuBar application from the supplied floppy disc to any
- directory on your hard disc, and run the program by double-clicking
- on the !MenuBar icon. When you run MenuBar the initial Bar appears
- at the top of the screen with a button on the left and five (empty)
- Menus. The button in effect replaces the usual icon bar icon.
-
-
- Upgrading from MenuBar 1
- ------------------------
-
- Users of MenuBar 1 can transfer their existing data to MenuBar 2 by
- simply dropping their existing application '!MenuBar' onto the
- button at the left of the bar.
-
-
- Upgrading from an earlier version of MenuBar 2
- ----------------------------------------------
-
- To transfer your existing data, registration details and choices
- simply replace the Library and User directories in the new version
- with those in the older version.
-
-
- Documentation
- -------------
-
- Full information is given in the Help file, a copy of which is in
- the directory 'Manual'. This file is constructed to be easily
- printed, if required. A reminder of keyboard and mouse shortcuts is
- accessible from the button menu.
-
-
- The 'Register' file
- -------------------
-
- The 'Library' directory contains a special 'Register' file,
- encrypted with your name. The Library directory is your personal
- property, and when in future you obtain upgrades from the PD
- Library, you simply copy your Library directory to the new version
- to retain both your registration and your data.
-
- You are encouraged to pass on unregistered copies of the program,
- and to do this you simply copy the MenuBar to a floppy disc and then
- delete the entire Library directory. This ensures that your
- personal property is safeguarded, and that the version you pass on
- behaves as an unregistered demo version.
-
-
- Demo version data
- -----------------
-
- If you experimented by creating data with the demo version, and if
- you wish to retain this data, you will need to run the Text file for
- each Bar through !Convert first to create new Data files - see
- Section 13 in the Help file. (This is because the demo data files
- contain a lower value for the maximum number of Menus.)
-
-
- MenuBar 2 Site Licences

-
- The standard price of 15 UK pounds licenses you to use MenuBar 2 on
- a single machine.
